The 8th edition of A Journey Through Time makes its return to Starhill Gallery this year and is set to up its game once again. Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, this annual event will once again be a focal point for watch and jewellery enthusiasts as well as renowned brands to come together in celebration of beauty, luxury and excellence.
Joseph Yeoh, Vice President of YTL Land and Development Berhad as well as YTL Hotel and Properties has this to say: “The showcase this year will be our most diverse as we are creating an experiential event. A Journey Through Time VIII brings together in one place, the most exclusive collections of luxury watches and jewellery as well as renowned principals, skilled ateliers and master craftsmen from the most famous watch and jewellery houses in the world.”
Here are 5 things to expect from this acclaimed luxury showcase.
New Brands to Get Acquainted With
Often described as a powerful prelude to Baselworld 2015, the event will see a mix of rare private collections, first in-market editions and exquisite pieces from over 125 brands being exhibited throughout the 8 days. Making its debut into the Malaysian market are HYT, Lilla Rio, MOISEIKIN, Carlo Barberis and Gem Palace.
Party After Party
Watch collectors; be ready to stock up on eight-days worth of different outfits and watches in your wardrobe because it is going to be busy week for you. Each night, a brand will host a gala dinner to showcase their exquisite pieces. Furthermore, talented artists such as Carly Paoli and Laura Wright are two of the celebrities scheduled to make an appearance after the gala dinners
The following are the events in order: Visit Malaysia Year 2014 Gala Night, Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Night, Ceres Gala Night, HYT Gala Night, Citibank Gala Night, Garrard & Co Gala Night, Bedat & Co Gala Night and Watch & Jewellery of the Year Award Gala Night. Be ready to have your tastebuds enticed by the culinary creations by Chef Matthew Ona of Shook! Kuala Lumpur throughout the eight-day extravaganza.

Precious Pieces to Covet and Own
The showcase this year will be even more extravagant, with distinguished pieces that will be flown in to Malaysia, specifically for A Journey Through Time VIII. Maurice Lacroix will be bringing in its Masterpiece Gravity, one of the first timepieces to feature a silicon assortment. Hermès will be displaying their line of exquisite watches such as the Arceau Lift and Arceau Le Temps Suspendu, while Damiani will be showcasing its exquisite pieces throughout its 90 years of excellence.
As a special promotion in conjunction with the event, both The Ritz-Carlton KL and the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur are offering attractive packages for both domestic and international visitors for a two-night stay. Both hotel packages also include an invitation to one of the event’s gala dinners for two guests, inclusive of breakfast.
